Introduced in 1967 as part of the broader IWC Portuguese collection, the Yacht Club was designed to cater to the needs of sailors and yachtsmen, blending nautical functionality with elegant design. Over the years, the Yacht Club has evolved, becoming a symbol of IWC`s commitment to producing high-performance, aesthetically refined watches that embody the spirit of maritime adventure.
This version of the famed Yacht Club, reference IW390211 comes set in a robust 45.4mm stainless steel case with a matching smooth polished bezel. Its Silver opaline dial features contrasting applied Arabic numeral hour markers, matching ‘leaf’ hands and running seconds sub-dial 6 o’clock and a striking red split-second hand, as well as displays the chronograph hours and minutes as a totalizer at 12 o`clock.
These details are protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass, and powered by the IWC calibre 89361 automatic movement, which is visible through an exhibition caseback. It`s 6atm (60m/200ft) water resistance is ensured by a screwdown crown, with the watch completed by a black rubber strap with a brushed stainless steel deployment clasp.
Originally purchased in July 2014 the watch shows some light wear , coming supplied with its original inner box (showing some damage and signs of age), instruction booklet, cleaning cloth, and original international warranty card.
